Alpha Test Participation Requirements

Participation in the Alpha test program is estimated to require approximately 10 hours of work effort over the test duration of six weeks. To realize the full benefits of test program participation, you must be willing to work with the activities described below.

Extract work item data from your Agile lifecycle management (ALM) system of record in the AVC-prescribed format and upload it to the test area using a comma-separated variable-length (csv) file. In the csv data structure below, brackets indicate that column content can be null for confidentiality reasons. If Epic Link data need to be obscured for confidentiality reasons, then substitute strings are acceptable but they must mimic real data so analysis conclusions make sense. The Created and Resolved attributes are date fields, optionally including time. The PeriodStart and PeriodEnd attributes mark the calendar period of interest for the data, so one start date repeats for every row, as does one end date.

The AVC team will provide the basic query which you will modify to run against your ALM. The following ALMs are preferred: JIRA, Rally, VersionOne.

  1. [Key]
  2. [Summary]
  3. Status
  4. Epic Link
  5. Created
  6. Resolved
  7. Issue Type
  8. [Labels]
  9. [Project Identifier]
  10. [Classification]
  11. PeriodStart
  12. PeriodEnd

Map final work flow states to Accepted.

Categorize PBI_Parent epics into one of three possible categories.

Build foundation tables for labor rates, teams, and personnel. If team or personnel names need to be obscured for confidentiality reasons, then substitute strings are acceptable but they must mimic real data so analysis conclusions make sense.

Build a team rate map to feed the AVC cost-to-value engine.

Devote your time to a minimum of three one-hour collaboration sessions with the AVC team.

Complete at least one end-to-end functional walk of the AVC main Web page, providing feedback by email as your time permits. At least one email deemed to be constructive by the AVC team is required.
